you said it. POPULARITY is the name of the game.. but despite this fact Sanares believes that it is still principle over popularity and substance over style. 

About running in a lower position, i believe that the 37 years he has served with the PNP is more than sufficient in serving the province of Batangas.  Although he knows that he would be battling with the RICH and the FAMOUS, he stood by his will to serve the people of batangas. 

I tell you sir, this man has planned to run for governor since October 2006. He had all the time to back out given the big names of his opponents. But he chose to fight because of his strong will to serve the Batanguenos.

hi peaceful...  i have nothing against of you or with Sanares being your candidate, and in fact im happy of you being actively participating this discussion... wherein.. as always ... (hehehehehe arte ko magsalita) everyone here is entitled for their own opinion.

on "it is still principle over popularity and substance over style", i think to get this, one should get back again to popularity issue. how can voters know if the candidate really has principle and substance kung nde mo nga sya kilala. maybe you could shed us some facts about sanares to start with.

there are a thousand of ways to help kababayans besides being a governor... and by that he could be popular. i THINK nobody can really tell what is sufficient for a public servant until they finished their term. 37 years in PNP, yes maybe sufficient, but again we dont have any info (records, hearsay, news, etc..) of him to based his achievements..

Batangas PNP is not a better system than provincial government (just an honest opinion).

about Sanares running for a lower position first.. for me lang.. yung mga artista nga gusto na maging senador when all they can brag about is their experience in 'arts'.. Sanares graduated from the Philippine Military Academy.. was assigned in different areas in the country -- Cavite, iloilo, bicol, was sent to Mindanao even, etc. maybe u can google him for various positions held..

Sanchez is a good leader... napatunayan n nya yan sa Sto Tomas... Si ate vi naman awkie din kaso nga laang ay may pula ako sa kanya... sobra naman kc ung mga nanghahatak ng sasakyan sa CM Recto...hai naku, pati motor ko'y pinagdiskitahan, yan tuloy, nagatasan p ko...pero pag c ate vi ang nanalo my advantages din tau kc asawa nya c sen. recto...(i think it's an advange...hehehe!) pag c Sanchez nanalo, i think gaganda ang batangas katulad ng ginawa nya sa Sto Tomas pero parang gugulo nga laang, cguradong magpapatuloy yang mga bombahang yaan...
